Gracie Starts Walking Home from School

This past week Gracie has asked if she could walk home from school. She lives less than 2 blocks from her school, so Mommy said yes.
Of course, Dadda wanted to make sure she made it home safe. He walked to the end of the block to walk the rest of the way home. He waited more than enough time for her to come around the corner and started toward the school to find her.
Gracie had walked with her friend that lives around the other corner and Dadda saw her before he became too worried about her. He had discussed with her the shortest and safest route home.
The next day he parked around the corner from school so he could watch her walk from school. As the crowds thinned out and he still hadn't seen her, he became a little anxious.  Finally she came around the corner. She had crossed the street at the far end of school and had to double back.
Dadda has since reviewed the walking route home from school with her.
Gracie is growing up too fast for Dadda.

Yep, but a little independence goes a long way. You'll keep an eye on her and that's a good thing.

Have a fabulous day. ☺
