This morning as Dadda went to wake Gracie for her first day of 1st grade he did not anticipate Gracie jumping right out of her bed, excited about starting school.
Gracie picked her clothes to wear and quickly finished her Rice Krispies breakfast with a dash of cinnamon.
Grampa flew down from Utah (and boy,are his arms tired!) to see Gracie off to class. He wanted to make up for missing last year's first day. He was in the hospital in a medical halo after breaking his neck. He wasn't going to miss another year.
Gracie loaded up her family and headed off to school. She was excited to meet some new classmates and happy to see "old" friends from last year too.
Gracie even posed for pictures with her Grampa and parents at her classroom door to remember the day. There is construction going on at Gracie's school making it a better place to learn.
Mommy,Dadda and Grampa await Gracie's report on her first day playing on the big kid play ground for recess! She was really looking forward to that.

Oh she's going to do so well. I just know it. Thanks for making it such a big deal for her too. That way she'll always know how very important school is. Grandpa being there was the icing on the cake.
